This 2024 Cup of Excellence Winner #5 auction lot is exclusively available in Japan at SÖT COFFEE.
Tracing its origins to the 19th century, this family-owned farm was reclaimed in 1960 by Mario De La Cerda and Maria Colom, restoring it to the Colom lineage. In 1999, Diego de la Cerda (third generation) modernized both production and processing. Its high elevation and native shade trees create a unique microclimate, yielding exceptional cup profiles. The farm devotes 55% of its land to natural forest and operates entirely on solar power, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability.
Over the past two decades, the farm has expedited fermentation by using hot water, preserving bean density and natural compounds for a bright, vibrant flavor. Meticulous soil and pest management further enhance quality. With four first-place Cup of Excellence wins, the farm stands as a leader in Guatemalan coffee excellence.
